Too Cool For School Egg Cream Hydration Mask First Impressions Review

For years, I have struggled with the complications of acne. More specifically, my chin and cheeks would breakout weekly. I have found that when I change my lifestyle and incorporate new routines (exercise and dietary cleansing) my body reacts. One thing I noticed most is when I do not drink enough water or hydrate my skin, it will break out. So, I look for detox and hydrating masks to help me maintain my skin.

During a visit to Sephora in Brooklyn, I wanted to buy a few mask for the upcoming weeks. As I stated before, detox and hydration masks are where it's at for me. So, I knew where to start---which is good in Sephora. Now, it can get pricey in there, so price was a factor. When I found Too Cool For School in the skincare section for a few bucks, I decided to give it a shot and began to read the ingredients list.

Packed with all kinds of goodies for my skin from egg extracts, coconut water, camu camu and  niacinamide. Each element contributes to snatching your skin and replenishing its moisture. Egg extracts nourish the skin and the coconut water hydrates. Camu Camu helps with skin brightening and is 30x more potent than oranges. Lastly, niacinamide vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid, niacinamide is a very effective skin-restoring ingredient that visibly improves the appearance of dullness, fine lines, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, and a weakened skin surface.

Another benefit I liked about the mask is it has no sulfates, parabens, phthalates. Sulfates are synonymous with dryness and parabens are connected to promoting cancer. But, phthalates takes the crown when it comes to toxicity. According to The Guardian phthlates have been linked to "...asthma, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, breast cancer, obesity and type II diabetes, low IQ, neurodevelopmental issues, behavioral issues, autism spectrum disorders, altered reproductive development and male fertility issues."

Overall, I give the mask a 3 out of 5. As much as the mask was marketed for hydration, my face felt tight and a little dry in the final stages. I did like how my skin looked afterward, because it brightened my complexion.  The link for where to buy are on the Sephora website.
