Field Trip: Nine West Fall Shoe Shopping

Men's footwear has been the demise of femininity among the extended-size shoe sorority. On numerous occasions we are ushered in to men's shoes. I must admit that I've seen quite a few women's shoes that replicate men's footwear and thought the style was chic and current. However, the closest idea of me donning men's shoes has always been sneakers. Thus, I've never dallied with men's footwear until now. All courtesy of....Nine West.

My observation from the last few years with Nine West is the speak more to business woman and working mothers. With this being said, those women need comfort and functionality to carry out their day. This does not mean said women do not care about fashion, but comfort is priority.

I'm shopping for work this time around. So comfort is a priority, but so is style. When it comes to shoes, I'm looking for smart, trendy and sturdy shoes that will last me throughout the day as well as catch the attention of a passerby. I want my shoes to be viewed as cosmopolitan and clever---kind of like the owner ;-) Well, I'm ecstatic to share Nine West has done just that for their 2015 Fall Collection. See below.

These shoes look a tad bitchy and feel that way as well. Contrarily, the patented pointed-toe cap loafer is stylish. They were the most uncomfortable of the shoes I tried. I'm a little disappointed, because this would have been a staple shoe for the coming year.

The oxford was all the rave two years ago, but the monk strap is the new leading trend for women's androgynous footwear. Although the patent leather is stealing the light or either I just need to update my camera, these shoes are cool in person. They give a structured city look with a playful wedge as the sole for added support. Needless to say, I got them.

I found these to be the most comfortable, yet the most boring in appearance. I'd also like to mention, that they look a bit clunky for my shoe size. For example, the traction sole makes my foot look large. This is a negative attribute for women with bigger feet. The design is common, but maybe the designers thought they could play up on the look with the edgy sole. Honestly, this could work for a woman with smaller feet, just not the right look for me.

Everything I need! This adorable spectator shoe is so fun to look at on my feet. Other customers complimented me about them and encouraged me to buy them. I didn't need convincing because I was already persuaded.  The splendid spectator shoes made my feet look smaller in person. This is rare for a pointed-toe shoe, but the color blocking and the leather textures help with the illusion of a daintier foot. Sold!

All shoes are under $90, now you can't beat that with a bat.
