Brand New Flava in Ya Ear: FIN by Syd
I have been patiently awaiting the birth of Syd the Kid's Fin LP. It was well worth the wait. Now I cannot stop playing the album. Number one: Syd and The Internet have always delivered sexy electronica music with catchy beats like Girl (remake no HBO's Insecure) Curse and Special Affair from their EGO DEATH album. Number two: she has an innocent voice with some controversial things to say. She's magic.
On Fin, Syd speaks the language of lovers through Body, Smile More, Know and Drown in it. These songs make you want to call up a friend for the classic "Netflix and Chill" sesh accompanied with wine and weed amongst other things.
She opens with🥁 Shake Em Off. A definitive f.u. to all mental anxiety and pressure with an aloof approach to haters. SEO's stinging melodic beat coupled with Syd's honeyed vocals makes for a "give no fucks" salutation.
One of my favorites is 🥁Know. You can only come to this body party if you have a private invitation. Syd lathers her company in soothing vocals as she seduces her prey on temptation.
A classic is🥁 Got Her Own. Mixed with echoing vocals and time warped seducing beats, Got Her Own is the newest independent woman anthem of 2017.
🥁 Syd is on her worst behavior in All About Me. A Boastful and prideful headbanger. See video the latest below.
My only complaint is No Complaints and Drown In It ends at 1 minute. Syd completely teased her audience with these two. I'm hoping when her tour begins she extends these beauties. Drown In It complements the turndown in us all. On the other hand, No Complaints is the turn up theme for you and your crew.
All in all, I'd recommend purchasing the Fin LP because it has a synergetic fluidity to it and you wouldn't have to skip any songs to get to the next. It's a rare gem.
